Your Forever Overcoat
The doldrums and dog-days of summer are the perfect time to begin planning for the garment that will keep you warm this winter and through all the winters to come -- namely, a bespoke luxury overcoat, whether that be a camelhair polo coat, a cashmere double-breasted, or this herringbone tweed ulster that we're currently working on (pictured below), with classic peak lapels and a self-belt at back.
We love the soft but sturdy hand of this cloth and the way the black-and-white hatching resolves to a mid-gray that flatters both black and blue tailoring, and black and brown shoes -- making for a truly versatile and comforting coat, for when the weather turns less clement.

A Lighter Canvas for a Lighter Season
Canvas is the material that goes inside your suit to give it structure -- the organic layers between the fabric and lining that make the shoulders stand up, that round out the chest, and that make the lapels roll like a gentle wave. This season at the atelier we've been experimenting with different weights of canvas, convinced that in this age of climate change and rising temperatures, there's no reason to use the same old year-round canvas on lighter summer suiting and jackets. To that end, we've developed an all-new all-linen canvas that we've been using to great effect -- perfect for maintaining comfort, as well as shape, in our continual transitions between the hot and humid outdoors and inside air-conditioning. The response to our denim announcement was incredible. Thank you to everyone who placed an order. These deluxe fabrics combine the casual appeal of "jeans" with the refinement and drape of world-class tailoring cloth -- yet another exquisite innovation for the foremost Milanese mill and a benchmark in denim history.
