The Bespoke Process
Our seven-step process has stood the test of time and ensures that at the end of it you will have an exquisite hand-made bespoke garment that will last you a lifetime.
Step 01
Design Choices
The first step in the bespoke process is the initial consultation. During this appointment, our expert tailor will take up to 50 individual measurements and evaluate your build, posture, and shape to highlight your best features. You will also have the opportunity to design your suit or garment to meet your needs, tastes, and lifestyle. This is where you can choose everything from the cloth and fit to the specifics such as the shape of the lapel, number of buttons, and hidden pockets. Our goal is to create a garment that is uniquely suited to you.
Step 02
Pattern Cutting
After the initial consultation, the next stage is the crafting of the pattern. Based on the client's individual measurements and preferences, the tailor will create a unique pattern for the garment. The pattern serves as the foundation for the entire garment, dictating the shape and structure of each individual piece. The tailor will typically take several hours to create the pattern, ensuring that every detail is precisely aligned with the client's specifications. Once the pattern is complete, it serves as the blueprint for the next stage of the bespoke process, where the garment will be brought to life.
Step 03
First Fitting- Basted
During the initial fitting, you will see your garment in its baste stage with the canvasing exposed. This preliminary fitting is primarily intended to provide feedback to the tailor, rather than to showcase a finished suit. The tailor will use this opportunity to make slight modifications to the fit and drape of the garment based on your body shape and preferences. The basted suit is essentially a 'first draft' of the final suit and can be altered if necessary.
Step 04
Second Fitting
During the second fitting, the suit is further refined . As a result of the adjustments made in the first fitting, the garment is closer to its finished state. At this stage, you'll be able to see how the tailor's expertise has transformed the suit into a truly bespoke garment. Additional fittings may be necessary, but generally, we can move on to the final finishing stage.
Step 05
Buttonholes
Beautiful, hand-made details are added as the piece enters the finished stage – fine buttonholes, pick stitching and buttons.
Step 06
Final Piece
Your suit is ready and after a final pressing, it is ready for collection.
Requiring at least three fittings, the bespoke process is the epitome of sartorial perfection. Each stage will allow us to form and shape the garment, creating a high end, bespoke, one of a kind piece.

At Tiefenbrun, our commitment to providing exceptional service doesn't stop at delivering your suit. We understand the importance of caring for a bespoke suit to maintain its quality and longevity. That's why we offer recommendations for proper cleaning and pressing, and we're also available to assist with stain removal or alterations if necessary.
